Biography

Born 1991 in Merate, Italy.
He currently lives and works in Milan.
In 2016 he attended an MA in Architecture for Sustainable Design at the Polytechnic of Turin.

In his vision of things, art is not separated from other knowledge; indeed it is the main branch that, together with other disciplines, represents a means to investigate and reinterpret the biosphere.

Caimi embodies a generation of artists using technology as a tool for inquiring the forces binding humans to nature and matter. Math, ecology, programming and chemistry are the means used by this artist for focusing the subject of an artwork in order to inspect the process of its creation. His work is based on the relocation of natural elements in digital scenarios, where shape, colour and matter take on a new meaning.

His artworks encompass digital processing, sculpture, photography and installation.

Stefano’s works were displayed at various solo and group shows, in national and international contexts. In 2018 he won “Art & Nature” first prize, Cultural District of Barro, Lecco, IT and he was host in residence at PAC180, Contemporary Art Path in Livorno, IT. The following year presented the series “Phytosynthesis”, digitally flowers processed through tridimensional scanning, at the Royal Place of Milan for Cairo Art prize and in XJTLU International University of Suzhou, CN. In the same year, 2019, he was awarded as the winner of “Welcome to the machine” exhibition in Turin. In 2020 he took part of residence of Dolomiti Contemporanee, visual arts lab on location.
He is currently represented by The Flat – Massimo Carasi Art Gallery in Milan.
