Biography

Born 1991 in Merate, Italy. He lives and works in Milan.

His work visually restores natural processes, set in technological and digital scenarios, where shape, color and matter take on a new meanings. The artworks “Fragments of contemporary landscapes” are blooming of an era in which man-environment relationship become the currently most relevant issue.

“I’ve always been fascinating by the biological complexity I find in nature.
A dense network of hidden and interconnected relations ”

He seeks a tension between detail and context, a complexity that leads audience to a continuous shift of perspective. Math, ecology, programming and chemistry are the media used to focus the subject of an artwork in order to inspect the process of its creation. He adopts a transdisciplinary approach, a 360-degrees view, encompasses digital processing, sculpture, photography and installation.

Caimi’s works were exhibited at various solo and group shows, in national and international contexts. In 2018 he won “Art & Nature” first prize, Monte Barro’s art and nature park, Lecco, IT and he was hosted in residence at PAC180, Contemporary Art Path in Livorno, IT. The following year presented the series “Phytosynthesis”, digitally flowers processed through tridimensional scanning, at the Royal Place of Milan for Cairo Art prize and in XJTLU Inter- national University of Suzhou, CN. In the same year, 2019, he was awarded as the winner of “Welcome to the machine” exhibition in Turin. In 2020 he took part to a group show “..and thence we came forth to see again the stars” at The Flat – Massimo Carasi art Gallery and he was hosted at Dolomiti Contemporanee residence, visual arts lab on location.
